UNIFORM DISTRIBUTION

Like every winter season students at the Navsamaj Shkiksha Kendra were provided with winter uniform. Their parents cannot afford new clothing or school uniform for these children. No attention has been given to the impact of cold waves on the poor people. These people spend most of their life without clothes, good food and shelter to fight cold. We aim to help the poor kids in theRajokariPahari area who will be affected by the cold wave this year.Let us all do our bit.

SPORTS EVENT AT SHIKSHA KENDRA

For many kids, youth sports is a time to learn things like teamwork, goal setting, time management-skills that often prove valuable off the field and in work settings later in life. But for kids who can’t afford the fees associated with team sports or the equipment or the uniforms or the transportation to away games, these learning opportunities are few and far between. The poorer the child, the less likely he is to do exercise - and weaker his body will be as a result.
Navsamaj Shiksha Kendra encourages children from underprivileged backgrounds the opportunity to interact and participate in team sports to encourage them to come to the school.

MAHILA SILAI KENDRA

Navsamaj Welfare Society initiated a program for women under 'MahilaSilai Kendra' in the year 2012. Under this programme, women from Rajokri Pahari area are getting vocational training of stitching and embroidery. So far around 150 women have attained training from the institute and are supporting their families by working independently. The ability to earn makes them confident, helps them negotiate gender inequities, and enhances their status at home and in the society. They can generate income by setting up their own sewing and machine repair business, or from teaching sewing to other women, for a nominal fee.

FOOD DISTRIBUTION

The children, with the help of Mr Gulshan Arora, very enthusiastically took part in the preparations of the festival. Special refreshments were also provided to the children on the occasion of Diwali.Diwali is probably the most popular and well known of all Indian festivals, but Diwali is more about the spirit of giving than receiving. There are a lot of families who would love to celebrate Diwali the way we do in our homes. SHIKSHA KENDRA

Started with a humble beginning in 2007, Navsamaj Shiksha kendra has come a long way. From an open air class room to well-constructed building, from a handful to over 550 students. Students have been provided free basic education and most of them have been admitted to schools for proper higher education.Children of poor families, where both parents go out to work as labourers and domestic help are the most vulnerable. Their food, education and health needs are always neglected.

Navsamaj would like to motivate those want to give something back to society, to sponsor the educational expenses of one or more child in full or in part. This is truly a satisfying way to transform lives and help society. Donations to Navsamaj Welfare Society are eligible for tax exemption and it has been set up as a not-for-profit entity under Section 25 of the Companies Act. Those interested in helping poor children by volunteering at Navsamaj Welfare Society can also contact us.
