Empowering Women through Skill Development: Navsamaj Welfare Society’s Mahila Silai Kendra at Rajokari Pahari, Since its inception in 2012, the Navsamaj Welfare Society has been tirelessly working towards the empowerment of women in the underserved communities of New Delhi. One of its most impactful initiatives is the Mahila Silai Kendra (Women’s Sewing Center) located at Rajokari Pahari Slum Area, New Delhi – 110038.
This Silai Kendra provides free tailoring and stitching training to women and young girls from economically weaker sections. The program not only equips them with practical skills but also builds confidence, self-reliance, and a pathway to financial independence. Upon completion of the training, many participants start their own tailoring businesses or secure employment in boutiques and garment factories.
