| Navsamaj Welfare Society initiated a program for women under ‘MahilaSilai Kendra’ in the year 2012. Under this programme, women from Rajokri Pahari area are getting vocational training of stitching and embroidery. So far around 150 women have attained training from the institute and are supporting their families by working independently. The ability to earn makes them confident, helps them negotiate gender inequities, and enhances their status at home and in the society.They can generate income by setting up their own sewing and machine repair business, or from teaching sewing to other women, for a nominal fee. |
